A unique profile of British pop superstar Robbie Williams

It took a year and a half to get permission to film the lavish dance sequence on London’s Regent Street, as it is owned by the British royal family. Two nights before the scheduled filming date, after a full week of rehearsals, Queen Elizabeth II passed away and filming had to be postponed. Everyone had to be paid anyway, including shop owners and staff, and production insurance did not cover the losses due to the monarch’s death.

The producers had to raise additional funds to film the sequence, which was filmed five months later. I didn’t know what to expect from the film because I thought it would be quite strange to see Robbie as a monkey. In the end, the monkey adds a lot to the film.

The story is one that touches your heart

You fall in love with him immediately, and within a few minutes he is Robbie. Jonno Davies, who plays Robbie, is a brilliant actor. Even though you can’t see his face, he certainly knows how to portray him.

I have so much respect for him

It’s not just about Robbie the pop star, it’s also about his younger years. He’s so vulnerable in this film, with so many stories about his personal life, his career and the challenges he’s had to face. The music and the visuals add so much to the film.

The film is a mix of laughter, but of course, tears too

I was speechless at the end, tears welled up in my eyes, but mostly PROUD of who I am today.
