Chronology
The men and women live in a giant underground silo, with numerous regulations in place that they believe protect them from the toxic and ruined world above. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping a dystopia, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about.

And when this status quo that maintains order is challenged, execution and punishment ensue
This is an interesting take on the history of an underground bunker, about people who survived underground for so long that a civilization emerged inside, with legends, myths, beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies that are rooted in events that have been forgotten and a status quo of structure that has been socially established. A power structure is created, creating a stratified population, both figuratively and literally, from the top of the silo to the bottom.
Good acting by Oyelowo, with familiar faces in Rashida Jones and Will Patton
That’s the premise, and while it’s not entirely original (think Snowpiercer, Dark City, etc.), there’s enough new stuff here and it feels well-executed for a TV series. (But as you can see from the series poster, these are guest stars who will make way for the regular cast, with Rebecca Ferguson in the lead role.) The series seems to be pretty decent, with good production values.
The sophisticated sets and good CGI create a believable atmosphere
While a suspicious person would quickly discover the obvious conspiracy theories, the mysteries uncovered keep me watching the film on the edge of my seat.
